Warriors Off to a Hot Start

The Woodhaven Warriors have recently begun their league season with a great team win from the whole team. The Woodhaven Warriors faced the Allen Park Jaguars on Wednesday, April  14th. Senior Ryan Szepaniak made the start at pitcher for the game, ending with 18 strikeouts. The game was a game of defense for both sides of the ball with the score still being 0-0 at the end of regulation in the bottom of the 7th inning. In the top of the 8th, the Warriors were looking very promising with the bases loaded and one of Woodhaven’s best sluggers Zach Phillips. With one out in the inning, Phillips hit a shot in the gap for a double and widened the lead to 2-0. Woodhaven was able to hold the Jaguars for the whole game, finishing with a score of 2-0. “We fought really hard this game, and it really showed right there at the end. We played a really good defensive game and were able to hold them to 0 runs,” said Zach Phillips. The team played well throughout the game and got a quality win because of it. The Warriors baseball team starts their league record off at 1-0 with this win and looks to use it as momentum throughout the league play and look to bring home a league championship!
