FCCLA hosts shoe drive, plans active holiday season

FCCLA members Kendall Robinson,

Tara Gaskell, Staff Writer

FCCLA is currently holding a sneaker drive till December 23rd.

The goal of the sneaker drive is to decrease the number of shoes that end up in landfills and increase the amount of properly recycled shoes. Around 300 Million pairs of shoes end up in landfills each year.

Senior Kendall Robinson states the importance of the show drive, “The shoe drive is important to FCCLA because as a club it is our primary goal to help the community around us. By collecting shoes we are providing footwear for those that are less fortunate.”

To help out FCCLA, donate your old shoes to Mrs. Frost’s room C105.

FCCLA is doing more than the shoe drive. Some Recent FCCLA activities include carving pumpkins and crocheting plastic yarn mats to be donated to the homeless. Around Thanksgiving, FCCLA plans to make turkey dinners for dogs, and right before Christmas, they will be doing an activity called Santa Paws.

If you would like to participate in any of the activities, FCCLA meets every first and third Tuesday of every month in Ms. Frost’s room.
