The Woodhaven Warriors JV football team defeated the Taylor Griffins on September 21 by a score of 27-8, getting them back into the win column following their 13-2 loss to Waterford Mott. The resilient Woodhaven squad seemed to flush all of their wrongdoings from the previous week’s loss, as they bounced back and were firing on all cylinders from the opening kick.
JV Coach Kamberovski spoke on the bounce back W, “That loss to (Waterford) Mott left a sour taste in all of our mouths, but I think that led our players to be much more focused in the following week of practice. You could tell they didn’t want to experience that feeling again.”
There were a few big plays that ultimately led to the three-possession victory over the Griffins, one of which came before halftime, where QB Tahj Ferguson connected with WR Joshua Megyesi on a deep ball that led to a 92-yard touchdown.
When asked about the huge play, Coach Kamberovski explained, “That play was massive in the way that it shifted the momentum to us. That was the result that we were hoping for when we drew it up, but everybody doing their jobs is what truly led to the execution of it.”
The Warriors’ bounce-back W was very important as the players are now back on track and playing with confidence following a win. They travel to Gibraltar next to take on the Marauders in a crucial downriver league clash.
