The Woodhaven Rocket League Esports team secured a notable win against Monroe and won in a 3-0 sweep in a best-of-5 series.
This win places them first in the state, followed by the Hudsonville Eagles. They held them to only three shots in three games, although the three seniors achieved 44 shots, in three games. Owczarzak is currently number 2 in the state due to his skill in front of the net, able to score from many types of angles.
“This league is easy for me or something of that matter,” said senior Zachary Owczarzak, who led the team with an overall 12 goals, as well as helping his team with six assists.
Senior Ethan Petri proved to be an invaluable team player with seven assists and seven goals.“I was not going for goals, I was mainly focused on passing the ball to create plays,” stated Petri.
“I was focused on helping the team in the best way I could think and doing whatever it takes to bring us to the playoffs,” said senior Colin Robbins, who helped the team with six goals, one save, and three assists.
The Warriors are currently 2-0 for their record with another 3-0 sweep this past week.
They played strongly defensively by only allowing three goals to slip past their defensive style of play.
