The Woodhaven Warriors varsity swim team defeated their rivals the Trenton Trojans to upset one of the top seeded teams in the league.
The Warriors pulled a tough win with the ending score of 96-90 with a total number of wins in five out of the twelve events.
The top swimmer of the night was senior Analiese Clinton, who took gold in three events. Clinton took first in the 200 medley relay with a split time of 28.12, the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28.47, and the 100 yard freestyle timing in at 1:02.54.
Clinton explains how this big win not only meant so much to her, but to the team, “This was a big win. The last time we won against the Trenton swim team was over a decade ago. As my senior year swim season comes to an end it just topped off the great season.”
Zoe Barringer stole the gold in 2 of her events which consisted of the 100 yard backstroke timing in at 1:12.63, and the second event being the 200 medley relay with a split time of 32.46.
“The win against Trenton helped prove to us how we can work together to accomplish something big,” Barringer says.
The Warriors not only took the gold in 5 events, they also took silver in 5 events, and 10 different events at the bronze level.
The girls have many more tough teams to face, but now they have hope that they can accomplish a victory.
