Khang Nguyen, a kind and genuine person, is a part of the Video Game Club. Some may not know this senior gamer well, so here are 10 questions to get to know him better. 

What made you decide to join the Video Game Club?

I wanted to start getting more competitive after discovering the club with one of my friends.

What inspired you to get into video games?

The competitive aspect of games, and how it makes me challenge myself to get better.

Is there a way you are preparing for your upcoming tournaments?

Well, I bring my Nintendo Switch every day during lunch and use it to practice with my friends, and when we meet on Wednesdays we practice as well.

What about the video game club makes you enjoy it?

That we can be competitive and that I can play with my friends. How it opens up more opportunities for me to get better at the games I enjoy playing.

What is something people would never guess about you, and how did you discover it? 

I am double-jointed, I found out because one time I looked down at my arm while I was holding it out and discovered I am double-jointed.

What time of day would you prefer to play video games, and how long do you usually play?

So I would say it depends on the game, but I like to play grindy games so I would start in the day then play through the night. I usually play for about 6-7 hours a day now.

Is there a video game world that you would want to be transported into?

I would say Warframe because the storyline in there is very interesting, and how it’s a powerful and cinematic world.

If you had to pick a favorite video game, which would it be? 

I would definitely go with Minecraft. Obviously, it’s a classic. I have played it for so long that nothing could replace it.

What’s an unpopular opinion about video games?

That a lot of people underestimate games. Some require you to think of many factors in timed situations—specifically in FPS games like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant where you have to be open-minded to develop within the games.

What type of game do you enjoy playing the most?

PvE like Super Smash Bros, and Minecraft, are my top games I enjoy playing but overall it’s Warframe, the game that I am currently playing. I have had so much fun playing this game since I had it.
