One of the NHL’s most highly skilled and popular players, Patrick Kane, has shown his skill and accomplishments with his trade from the New York Rangers to the Detroit Red Wings.
The influence of Kane’s game is becoming prevalent recently for the Wings. The Red Wings were on a winning streak with a massive win against Kane’s original team, the Chicago Blackhawks, and this was a big moment for the fans of both teams.
The Red Wings were on a 5 game winning streak against many teams that were considered ‘top dogs’ of the league, and it was exciting to watch the team play and many fans were convinced that this was the kind of team to win the cup. With a rough past few seasons, fans were ecstatic to see the success of Detroit, and many people may give much of the credit for that success to Patrick Kane and how he has shown how much of a skilled player he is.
Senior Giuseppe Palazzolo explains how an absence of Kane would affect the Wings: “Negatively, he has become a key player alongside Captain Dylan Larkin, and their dynamic together is irreplaceable, and when you throw Olli Maatta in there, they become a godly trio so the Wings would be greatly influenced by Kane no matter what he is to the team”.
It is becoming clear to fans that Kane is becoming one of the essential pieces to the Wings, without him, the team wouldn’t reach the level of success that they have recently this season. He also fits in well with other players on the team, senior Reid Philabaum says: “The direct impact that Patrick Kane has brought to the Red Wings has been his expertise. He has also made Alex DeBrincat play a lot better, and has been able to coach the younger players and show them how to play in the league”.
Though it may be hard for players who have been in the league for a long time like Kane has, he has fit right in at Detroit, and the fans couldn’t be happier with the results that he has contributed to the team. He has been a reliable player and when results are needed or big moments need to shine through, Head Coach Derek Lalonde knows exactly who to call for production.
