“The Travelling Cat Chronicles” Hiro Arikawa’s incredible book, released on November 12, 2012, takes readers on a heartwarming journey that explores the unbreakable bond between humans and animals while celebrating love and friendship. This book portrays a positive message to the audience.
The story takes us on an adventure that follows the journey of a cat named Nana and his owner, Satoru. It starts with Satoru finding Nana injured on the side of the road and deciding to keep him. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Satoru is unable to keep Nana and decides to take him on a road trip to find him a new owner instead of dropping him off at the shelter. During their journey, they encounter various people and places, each leaving a lasting impact on their lives. As they travel, their bond grows stronger. Junior, Amely N. Lora-Medina says, “Animals help humans with disabilities and also with compassion and when they are lonely. They are reliable, loving, and help us admire nature.”
Some of the main themes that are explored are friendship and loyalty, and the story revolves around the unique bond between Nana and Satoru. It’s a heartwarming tale that touches upon the themes of love, loss, and the power of human-animal connection.
I gave this book a 10/10 because I thought the concept was great and it’s important to emphasize to the reader that life is about the journey rather than the destination. In other words, the meaning of life is not about reaching the destination; rather, it is about the process of living and learning along the way. Junior, Evelyng Estrada stated, “Because learning is what you will carry out in life and a goal or objective only confirms your learning.”According to Google, the overall rating of this book is 4.3/5.
For those who love exploration, adventure, and gripping narrative, I highly suggest this book. And it also appreciates the beauty of various cultures and the transformative effect of travel.
