Best Golf Courses Downriver

Golfing over the summer can be a relaxing and fun way to spend time with friends. Many golf courses are in the downriver area and are welcome and open to new golfers. The aspects to look at when looking for a golf course are prices, the difficulty level of the course, and the condition of the course.

The first golf course I recommend is Wesburn Golf Course, located at 5617 S Huron River Dr, South Rockwood, MI 48179. This course is less difficult than the golf courses featured today(par 72). This is a perfect course to shoot with your friends because it is laid back and in good condition. The prices are affordable, around $20 for nine holes and $30 for 18. I would give Wesburn Golf Course an 8.2/10 rating due to the affordability and good environment to play with friends.

The next course is Riverview Highlands, located at 15015 Sibley Rd, Riverview, MI 48193. This course has three different courses, gold, red, and blue. Having 27 holes, this is a reliable place because it can accompany many golfers. The prices are higher but vary on whether you go on a weekday or weekend. For 9 holes during the week, $27 and $45 for 18. It’s slightly more expensive during the weekend, paying $34 for nine holes and $55 for 18. However, with the different courses, the price point is reasonable. When looking at the difficulty, the blue course is the hardest out of the three. If you are a beginner golfer, I recommend the red or gold courses. I would give Riverview Highlands a 7/10 rating, while it gives many options for different skill levels, the prices are higher than other local courses.

Another nice course is Lake Erie Metropark, located at 14786 Lee Rd, Brownstown Charter Twp, MI 4817. This course is in good condition for the price you pay. The Metropark is one of the most well-maintained courses in the downriver area. The course is affordable, $20 for nine holes and $35 for 18. Difficulty-wise this course is more challenging on some holes, but for the most part, it’s a fairly easy course(par 72). One negative about this course is there are always a lot of geese on the course which can interrupt your golf time. I would give Lake Erie Metropark an 8.5/10 rating, while affordable this course is more difficult and has some distractions on the course.

The last course is Lakes of Taylor, located at 25505 Northline Rd, Taylor, MI 48180. Taylor has one of the nicest courses in the downriver area. The course has a very nice driving range and a designated area for chipping and putting. I find this to be very helpful to get ready before your round of golf. Price-wise, it’s $25 for 9 holes and $55 for 18. The difficulty of this course is on the harder side so if you are a beginning golfer I would not recommend you to go here (par 72). The condition of the course has always been nice and enjoyable for the times that I have been there. I would rate Lakes of Taylor with a 9/10 rating due to the well-maintained environment, however it can be more difficult.
