There are several softball facilities near Woodhaven, MI. There are certain aspects to consider before choosing the right facility for the athlete. Each facility has many different trainers and coaches to help athletes and the certain equipment they have to offer. Each trainer has different knowledge and skills from experience in college, coaching, and playing themselves. If you are not looking for a trainer but to rent a cage. The prices vary. It is something to look at how much they charge. Something else to look at is the location and how far the facility is. Overall, athletes have to decide what they are looking for and what facility is the best fit.

BK’s Softball Lounge

BK’s Softball Lounge is the only facility located in Woodhaven. BK’s offers cage rentals and personal instructors. Renting a cage is $25 for a half hour and $40 for an hour. For personal instructors, it is $40 for a half hour and $70 for an hour. You can rent a pitching machine for an extra $5. They offer glove repair services. Prices vary depending on the conditions. During the weekdays, they are open from 4-9 pm. On weekends, they are open from 9 am- 4 pm. They have eight different coaches with all levels of experience. Six of the coaches are strictly for softball and two of the coaches are strictly for baseball. All of these instructors experienced some level of college. Experience from college is D1 to NAIA. They have five cages to offer. Overall BK’s goal is to offer a welcoming atmosphere for all ages of athletes.

Game On Sports Center

Game On Sports Center is located in Taylor, MI. Game On focuses on softball and baseball but also has basketball courts and hosts other sports. They offer many programs for sports: softball, baseball, volleyball, and basketball. All of these programs have instructors. They also host youth camps and rentals of cages and courts. For softball, they offer three coaches who teach baseball as well. On certain days of the month, they host softball clinics for two hours. It costs $79 per person. A personal instructor lesson for a half hour is $40 and $70 for an hour. Cage rentals cost $40 for an hour and $30 for half an hour. If the athlete would like the pitching machine it is an extra $5. If multiple individuals or teams want to rent a cage and court, they offer a package that would cost $80 for an hour. Game On’s hours vary but closes at 10 pm every day. Besides Sunday, they close at 8 pm. Game On strives to Learn, Practice, and Play for all athletes.

The MVP Academy Acquisition

The MVP Academy is located in Romulus, MI. The MVP is a larger facility size than others; they have a large field area, Nine large cages, and a weight room. They offer this facility for baseball, softball, and soccer. They have older instructors than other facilities, but they also have young instructors still playing in high school and heading to college in the fall. These instructors are larger commits like Kiley Carr from Allen Park. She is committed to the University of Michigan and her high school teammate Avery Garden. She is committed to Northwestern playing softball. Each instructor charges $25 for a half hour and 45$ an hour. After looking at these prices these are lower priced than other facilities. MVP is open from 3 pm to 9:30 pm every day. Besides the weekends, they are open from 8 am to 9 pm. The MVP is known for running clinics from catching, running, hitting, and throwing. MVP’s goal is to work with all athletes of all ages.

Play at the Cage

Play at the Cage is located in Ypsilanti, MI. This is located a little farther but has many benefits. Play at the Cage is only specialized for baseball and softball. They have a 14,000-square-foot turf field. Usually, younger teams play games/tournaments in the wintertime. Older teams can rent this area out for practice. They also offer over 20 cages with Hack Attack pitching machines. There is a travel team for baseball called the Motor City Hitdogs. They get to use these cages at the cost of playing for the team anytime. It costs $250 to rent the large field for an hour. You could have games or scrimmages in this area and split the cost. They offer a wide variety of clinics all year round. Each cage has many machines, pitching mounds, and hit trax machines. They have nine instructors who give lessons with a variety of history of coaches from being in the major league to the Softball Hall of Fame. Prices for lessons vary from coach to coach. It is roughly $70 for an hour or less to rent a cage depending on what cage. Each cage has different machines to offer and different sizes. They also offer a shop with a variety of equipment and clothing for athletes to purchase. They may be farther away but have other benefits we do not have closer to Woodhaven. Play at the Cage strives to build premier athletes.

The Legacy Center Sports Complex

The Legacy Center is located in Brighton, MI. This is a farther drive but has a lot to offer. The legacy centers offer many sports like baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, dance, and pickleball. They have many facilities: an indoor two multi-purpose field, two weigh rooms, eight softball/ baseball cages, a fitness and yoga center, a sports bar, seven grass fields, six baseball/ softball fields, eighteen volleyball courts, and eight basketball courts. The legacy center has many training facilities for proper training for all athletes. For softball specifically, they offer leagues, travel teams, lessons, cage rentals, and weight training. For the travel teams either Tennessee Mojo or Legacy can practice and rent these facilities with the cost of playing with these teams. They have six private instructors that charge $45 for a half hour and $90 for a whole hour. There are clinics that players can join to learn about specific positions. The Legacy Center may be pricer but has more to offer. They also have a store where athletes can buy equipment and apparel. They strive to make an experience for all athletes.
