On September 23, 2024 Sabrina Carpenter kicked off her Short n’ Sweet Tour in Columbus, Ohio. The tour is going through the major cities in the United States and is continuing the journey through Europe and the United Kingdom ending on March 23 in Amsterdam, NL. The set list consists of all the songs on her new album give or take a few different ones listed by Forbes Magazine, “Taste”,“Good Graces”,“Slim Pickins”,“Tornado Warnings”,“Lie to Girls”,“decode”,“Bed Chem”,“Feather”,“Fast Times”,“Read your Mind”,“Sharpest Tool”,“Opposite”,“because i liked a boy”,“Coincidence”,“Spin the Bottle (surprise song)”,“Nonsense”,“Dumb & Poetic”,“Juno”,“Please, Please, Please”,“Don’t Smile”,and “Espresso” are all the songs played at Carpenters concert.
Emma-Rose Doran was asked what the concert experience was like, she stated “The concert was very high energy and theatrical. Each song had different choreography that was very put together and unique to the music”. The Short n’ Sweet concert stage set is to, says Rolling Stones “Give a sense of nostalgia. The Dreamhouse setup doubles as a vintage television show set, giving a 60s vibe”. One fun thing Carpenter does at each concert is before she plays the song ‘Juno’ she will find a male audience member and interact with them for a minute, then give them a pair of pink fuzzy handcuffs.
Carpenter’s tour is full of pastel colors, Doran was asked what someone attending the concert should wear she said “At the concert, there were a wide variety of outfits that all cohesively fit together. Many people wore dresses and skirts primarily of the colors pink, blue, and yellow. Also, a lot of outfits included bows, sparkles, and gogo boots”. For Carpenters stop on the tour in Detroit she did have someone open for her, the artist name was Amaarae, Doran stated“most of her songs fall under the categories of pop, R&B, and afrobeats. She gained popularity on some of her songs on TikTok in recent years”.
Another neat thing Carpenter does is after performing ‘Coincidence’ at every show she spins a bottle live to pick which surprise song to sing. When asked whether or not she would recommend the concert Doran said “I would recommend it to someone because not only does she have a great voice, but she is also a great performer. Many people look forward to hearing the music they love live, but getting to also watch theatrices along with it is a huge plus”. Overall the Short n’ Sweet tour seems like an amazing and fun time. Sabrina Carpenter’s performances are packed full of energy and she definitely gives it everything she has to make one memorable performance.
