Watching Jameson Williams tear his ACL in his final year of college football was devastating, but Jameson Williams is finally putting up the numbers that we expected from him that he was putting up in college. This year is Jameson’s breakout year. Jameson Williams is pegged to take the NFL ‘by storm,’ according to NFL on NBC, ever since his dominant performance in week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.
The offseason training camps were foreshadowing how Williams would play during the regular season. Williams in week 1 recorded 5 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. He shredded their defense all game long and he even recorded 24.4 fantasy points in week 1. Which is not at all what he was doing last year or his rookie year.
His statistics through four weeks say way more than his statistics from the past two years combined. We can’t count his rookie year, however, because he tore his ACL right before the NFL draft so he didn’t play his rookie year, but last year he was suspended for four games and injured for one. He has, through 4 games, done just about the same as he did in 12 games last year. The reason is that he’s recovered from all his injuries, practiced with the players and coaches, and found his spot in coach Dan Campbell’s scheme.
Jameson Williams recorded a 40-yard dash time of 4.25 seconds, according to SportsKeeda. The all-time NFL combine 40-yard dash record is 4.21 seconds set by Xavier Worthy in the 2024 NFL Combine. Meaning, that Jameson Williams is one of the fastest players to ever play in the NFL and we know that fast wide receivers usually tend to have pretty good careers. Look at Tyreek Hill, for example, he is most likely the fastest player to play in the NFL of all time and he has recorded 734 catches with 10,356 yards and 77 touchdowns in just 8 years.
This proves that Jameson Williams could potentially have a very good career as Tyreek Hill did. And Tyreek Hill had his breakout year in his second year, which shows that Williams could have as well if not for injuries, or maybe even his rookie year.
