After week 10 of the NFL, it is safe to say that there are fans who are upset with their team’s performance. Especially fans of the Lions and Texans. I personally am a Lions fan and found the game very enjoyable and nerve-racking. One particular thing fans are upset about is Jared Goff’s performance during the Texans game.
Jared Goff has been a very good Quarterback in the NFL and has led the team to many victories. However, during the Texans game, he had his worst game this season and possibly his entire career. He threw five interceptions and only two passing touchdowns. He had a 50% completion rate with 15/30 and 240 passing yards. In terms of this season, he did awful in that game. People are starting to say that he’s a terrible Quarterback, but I disagree. While yes, he threw five interceptions which is a career high for him, and had a low completion rate, that doesn’t dictate the rest of his season. It’s as simple as the fact he had an off-game. I still believe that he is a good Quarterback. Every player has an off-game every now and then. I believe that people are judging too harshly off one bad game and should see how he has done against other teams.
People believe that he isn’t good just because he can’t move that well. The argument I have against that is his offensive line. The Lions have the best O-line in the NFL currently, so Jared Goff rarely needs to move. When he does, I will admit he isn’t fast, so he rarely runs and will throw out of bounds. Also, during the Texans game, one big reason he performed poorly was because he was playing a very aggressive defense that knows what they are doing. Two of the five interceptions were very good on the Texans’ side, and one of them was a fumble that was ruled as a pass. Just because he didn’t play his best does not mean he is an awful quarterback.
