Jon Jones, also known as Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, is arguably the most dominant UFC fighter the world has ever seen. Jones’ ability to wrestle, throw punches, and even take his opponent down is possibly the best in the world. On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Jones dominated his opponent Stipe Miocic, winning by TKO, leaving Jones with a record of 28-1.
The Jones versus Stipe fight was originally planned to take action in November 2023, but Jones had to pull out of the fight after suffering a torn pectoral muscle. The fight on Saturday had all fans stoked to see Jones fighting again after his last fight took place in March 2023.
Following Jones’ big win on Saturday, Jones had called out one of his long-talked-about opponents, Tom Aspinall.
The UFC CEO, Dana White, had said, “We’ll negotiate. If everything goes right, maybe we’ll give you guys what you want to see.”
Jones had originally started his fantastic career off as a light heavyweight, destroying all of his opponents, and leaving Jones with no more competition. In May 2023, White had offered him more money and better opponents to fight if he had moved up to heavyweight. So Jones did that, leaving Miocic his first opponent in heavyweight.
Jon Jones says, “I’ve decided maybe I will not retire,”
The two big opponents on Jones’ mind are looking to fight Tom Aspinall and or even move back down weight classes to fight Alex Pereira. Dana mentioned that it is most likely not going to happen, but if the fans would want that he will try and make it happen. The fans will most likely cheer that on and hope to see the big fights in the future for the two.
