Week 11 of the NFL has concluded, and Lions fans like me are ecstatic about the huge win on Sunday. The Lions played the Jaguars at Ford Field, and it was a blowout victory for the Lions. After this Lions victory, there is no doubt that Jared Goff is in the MVP running this year. The entire team played incredibly and set franchise highs in the game.
After last week’s game at Houston, people were doubting Jared Goff’s skills and whether or not he was a good Quarterback. He set a career-high in interceptions with 5 in 1 game. Even though the Lions won, people were still upset. Like us, Jared Goff was very disappointed in his performance and said he would fix it. He would make good on this promise in the next game when he came out with a perfect passer rating with Amon Ra St-Brown. He threw 24/29 completions with a 158.3 quarterback rating. He set a season-high in passing yards with 412 and 0 interceptions. After the Texans game, Jared Goff clearly took it personally. This game was a perfect representation of a quarterback coming off an off-game. He went from 5 interceptions to 5 incompletions in a single game. I’m sure this isn’t going to be the last time Jared Goff does this well this season.
It wasn’t only Goff that went off in the Jaguars game. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs both had great games. Montgomery had 2 rushing touchdowns, and Jahmyr had 1. Amon Ra St-Brown had 165 receiving yards with 11 catches and 2 touchdowns. Jamo had 4 catches out of 6 targets with 124 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Not only the individual players but the team as a whole set a franchise high in yards with 635 yards of offense in a single game. The defense also played great, only allowing the Jaguars to get 170 yards of offense. Not to mention, the Lions coaching staff is incredible and a perfect fit for the team. Head Coach Dan Campbell is an incredible leader and has the respect of all his players and staff. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is great with his play calling and trick plays that work 90% of the time. Then of course defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has built an incredible bond with his players and has made them stronger than ever. The Lions have been looking great this season and are projected as the first seed in the playoffs and are expected to go to the Super Bowl.
