Here at Woodhaven High School, many students need longer lunches. I would like to think that teachers would also need longer lunches to have a longer break. Breaks are required when it comes to school and learning, your brain needs a break. Many students have started to complain since the freshmen entered the high school too.
At our high school, we have three lunches, but some are much more crowded than others. The lunches that are much more crowded are 1st lunch, which is more than others, it is much more difficult to get through the lunch lines. Lunch lines typically take about ten to twelve minutes to get through. Unless a student gets to the line super early, and there is no way they could get lunch quickly.
Many schools only have 25 minutes of lunch every day, so of course it is hard to eat in only a certain amount of time and socialize with your friends. In reality, you have two options: get in line at your high school lunch line to get a meal, or pack a lunch you will enjoy from your household. Some students also bring snacks to school to get them through their day. I believe that is what most students have been doing this school year.
A lot of students have classes that are far away from the cafeteria, and it takes them a while to get lunch. The Commons area at Woodhaven High School is always crowded too, so even getting a spot to eat there is sometimes possible or impossible according to the day. Only having thirty minutes of lunch is definitely not enough to get us high school students through the day. We students need to have a break from school work in general, and so do teachers every day too.
