‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is arguably the best boxer to ever touch the sport. After his return to boxing at the age of 58 to fight Jake Paul, many people are saying the fight was scripted.
Yes, Paul has put a lot of effort and work into his boxing skills, but the way Tyson was training at the age of 58 was very impressive. Both competitors put their all into the training and as the look of the fight went, it seemed like Paul’s training paid off more than Tyson’s.
If people look at the footage of Tysons training for the big fight that was on Nov. 15, it will show how fast, strong, and powerful he was, but when the fight came along, Tyson completely shutdown. Tyson barely threw the ‘powerful’ punches that he always threw and he did not fight in his normal fighting style.
Paul dominated over Tyson in the fight especially with Paul having a five inch reach advantage. Paul stood his ground by keeping his distance and using his reach to his advantage. It worked, Paul ended up taking home the win that night, defeating Mike Tyson.
Tyson’s fighting style, back then when he was the reigning heavyweight champion of the world, was to get up close and use his speed and strength to dominate his opponents. Unfortunately in the Paul vs Tyson fight, we did not see Tyson do that once. Tyson fought like he was scared and afraid, but everyone knew Tyson would never fight like that.
At the end of the day, many people are saying the fight was scripted, and it was embarrassing to watch Tyson get humiliated like that just for the money he was going to receive after the fight was over.
