Who are the Menendez brothers you may ask? They are two brothers who were charged in 1993 for first-degree murder. The two brothers were charged, but they both had separate hearings at the time they were not together. As they were being held in both their hearings, they both said it was self-defense. Their parents were shot and killed in their home in Beverly Hills California in 1990.
The Menendez brothers were abused by their father Jose Menendez. In the Menendez brother’s trial, both of the brothers said that if they did not keep their mouths closed, their father would kill them. The abuse had to be kept a secret, but their mother knew, and she did absolutely nothing about it because she thought that they were lying about the situation.
The first trial was finally set, and the first court case actually began. The rules were pretty much simple, no phones, and no cameras in the courtroom. The brothers have participated in as many programs, work-related, and self-defense programs available to show people that they are not alone in whatever they are going through.
In 2023, there was a show, specifically a “series” with real live footage of the Menendez brothers in court and how their trial has been ever since then. The show features many new things, such as their cousins’ point of view on the Menendez brother’s father “abusing” him. The Menendez brothers were unhappy about this upcoming Netflix series because they did not like how it had inaccurate points of view from the brothers and how they felt.
Attorney General Nathan Hochman is set to review the Menendez brother’s case and will take office in December to discuss what will happen with the brothers; for now, it is undetermined. He has been interviewed by many and has set his part. General Attorney Nathan Hochman will review the case; in the meantime, the court case is still set for December. The brothers also have other ways of how they could be recognized, but yet again that is also to be determined. Before Hochman was set to review the brother’s case, the Los Angeles Attorney George Gascon was the one who was supposed to lead this case but failed to help the brothers get their life back. Any decision that will be made will be held in a courtroom in December, but for now, everything is undetermined.
