As North Korean Troops are allowed into Russia, many Russians celebrate the joining of North Korea’s forces. North Korea is now deployed in Russia to help them in their mission to take over Ukraine. Around 1,500 North Korean troops were deployed at the start of October, but now, it has been reported that there are over 10,000 troops.
Dictatorship, belligerent, and repressive are how you can describe North Korea’s totalitarian government. Many reports over several years have confirmed how the citizen population of North Korea is used by its government and how the government commonly enforces censorship. The leader of this corrupt government is Kim Jong Un.
Vladamir Putin and Kim Jong Un have been known to have close relations, but since June, they have never been closer as friends. They both signed a new treaty called the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which solidified their friendship and defense of each other. Since the treaty was signed, North Korea has begun showing its support by supplying troops to Putin, more troops are planned to come as well.
Many believe North Korea is using this war to train its troops to experience a modernized war. The last war North Korea was involved in was the Korean War from 1950-1953. Since then, North Korea has been in no other conflicts. This means that most deployed have never seen conflict. Drones, satellites, and technology used on the battlefield are new to North Korea.
Since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian War, no other troops from any other country have been deployed. Countries from all over the world have been sending drones, guns, and artillery to Ukraine and Russia. But no one has sent actual troops. This is very important and serious because other countries are beginning to step in. This is how world war starts and we have learned this in the past with how World War I and II ended.
Many nations worldwide are watching these events unfold and are worried about what’s to come. South Korea’s President, Yoon Suk Yeol, declared martial law in Seoul on Tuesday. Martial law is the power that a president can use in a time of war and when their nation is in turmoil. President Yoon explained that South Korea was being influenced by North Korea and the opposing party from his was too. He had practically no evidence and martial law was lifted 6 hours later. He is now in the process of being impeached.
The question is now, how long will North Korea be there? Will they fight till the very end of the war and how many more soldiers do they plan on sending? Also, will any other nations join either side of the war in the next few months? These are big questions I do feel should be being asked. I do believe the more nations that get involved, the higher the chance of another world war. The Russian-Ukrainian still rages on and there isn’t much sight of peace anytime soon.
