Q: Why did you decide to announce the basketball games this year?
A: “Having worked in sports broadcasting before I became a teacher here at WHS, I’ve always had a passion for announcing sports. This year the position opened up for a basketball announcer and I knew I would enjoy doing it so it seemed like a no-brainer to take the job.”
Q: Could you see yourself continuing to announce in the future? Why or why not?
A: “I could for sure see myself doing it in the years to come. I have a great connection with most of the seniors on the basketball team this year which definitely makes it easier to do, but I like to think that I will still have fun doing it even after those guys graduate.”
Q: How do you feel about this upcoming Woodhaven vs Taylor game?
A: “I’m looking forward to the game. We have had a few close games this year, so I’m excited to see if the guys can put it all together and pull out a convincing win on the home court.”
Q: Switching over to the holidays, what do you plan on doing over the Christmas break?
A: “Heading out to Chicago for most of the break, most of my wife’s family lives out there so it will be nice to spend time with them. I also have tickets to a WWE show over the break that I will be going to with my son Sadik who loves wrestling.”
Q: Is the broadcasting class doing any Christmas-related assignments before the break?
A: “Right now all the classes are working on their holiday videos. The videos range from interviews on holiday traditions to music videos of Christmas songs.”
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world for Christmas, where would it be and why?
A: I’d love to experience Christmas somewhere warm for once. Catch me in one of those overwater bungalows in the Maldives.
