One of the student body’s favorite things at Woodhaven High School is the spirit weeks held during events. At WHS, we have spirit week for Halloween, Homecoming, and a few other events. The one that is most anticipated currently is the Christmas spirit week.
Starting on Monday, December 15th, WHS starts Christmas spirit week. People tend to go all out when we have a spirit week before our breaks. The ones who love doing extra are the seniors. Seniors like to go all out because it’s their last time they can do this type of thing in high school. They like to dress as crazy or funny as possible, and they don’t usually hold back. If it’s the ugly sweater, they might bring the most outrageous thing for the day in order to wear the ugliest sweater. Some paint themselves green for Grinch vs Santa day. Basically, everyone goes all out and makes it a fun time before the break. Seniors want it to be a fun time to make memories for the last time before they leave because they won’t have another chance to participate in spirit weeks like this.
The other ones who go all out are usually the teachers. The teachers love to participate in things like these not only because it’s fun for them and makes the students’ time more enjoyable. They will wear crazy hats or even wigs; they might even decorate their rooms. All the students at WHS want everyone to participate and have fun for the week before Christmas break.
