Woodhaven High School has many athletes, and this week, the focus will be on Jace Davis following his commitment to play college baseball.
Jace Davis has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. He played many sports growing up including basketball and football as well. Baseball has always been the sport that stuck with him and he found peace in playing. When asked why baseball is the sport that stuck with him he said, “Growing up I played basketball and football too, but I was never the biggest guy so I liked how size didn’t matter in baseball and it was just fun to be able to play with my friends.” Jace has played on some of the best teams in Michigan and the country. He played on Team Michigan while being recorded on live TV. Baseball has given him endless memories. When asked what his favorite moments are throughout his whole career he explained, “I had so many awesome moments growing up but some of my favorites were definitely just making memories and building friendships along the way, my favorite personal moments were when I hit my farthest home run while Gbrand was filming a commercial and also when playing for team Michigan I made a game-saving catch against Massachusetts.” Jace’s dream was always to be a collegiate athlete playing the sport he loves. I asked him what playing college baseball meant to him and he said, “College baseball means everything to me, I’ve dedicated a lot of time into the sport and it’s gonna give me the opportunity to not only grow as a baseball player but as a person as well. Not only is this a big moment for me but also for my parents as well, they’ve spent so much time and money on getting me to this point.” Overall Jace and the people around him are proud of getting to the point he’s at while playing the sport he loves and making countless memories.
