When it comes to winter break, people have all the time off in the world. They’re obviously going to want to go somewhere because we all know staying in your home for two weeks is not so fun. If you live in Michigan, which most people reading this do, the weather during Christmas time is not great. It is either freezing cold, raining, or snowing.
Some good places to travel over Christmas break consist of Honolulu – Oahu, a very warm destination. The state’s capital city, Honolulu, showcases the island’s urban appeal. Nearby, you’ll find various cultural and historic sites, from the ornate Iolani Palace to the austere USS Arizona Memorial at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. In the nearby Waikiki neighborhood, a skyline of high-rises and resorts contrasts with sprawling white sand beaches. This is a good place to travel because of the sights to see, it is warm, there are beaches and other things to do than just sitting in your home.
If you want to take the other route and go somewhere cold, Big Sky Mountain Village in Montana is the perfect place. Home to one of the best ski resorts in the country with nearly 6,000 acres of skiable terrain, Big Sky is gaining clout as a top-notch winter destination. Besides its downhill draw, this Montana town delights outdoorsy travelers with winter excursions like cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, an enchanted forest, and snow coach tours of Yellowstone National Park (which is just an hour’s drive southeast). This provides a very nice winter destination to compare with the Michigan weather.
