Rainbow Auto Wash on Allen Road started construction back in the beginning of November. Due to unforeseen events, the wash’s initial construction was delayed by two weeks. The wash was supposed to undergo an outdoor reconstruction, consisting of pavement, new pay stations, and all new vacuums for customer use.
Two weeks later the construction started and the wash was shut down until the last weekend of November. Employees were able to come back to work, but the construction is still ongoing. The wash reopened to the public allowing customers to pull their cars through, but half of the pavement was torn up and the pay stations are not hooked up quite yet.
The workers working on the vacuums and cement have been having some problems while working. So far on the job, there have been some miscommunications, but they have been worked out and the process is running smoothly. Customers have had some worries about the pay stations getting put into the wash. Some of the questions have been, “Are they card only?” and, “You guys will still be working here, right?”
The pay stations are going to be cash and card, and all employees will still be working in the main tunnel of the wash. The wash is scheduled to reopen by the middle to end of January. Questions have been very common during this long confusing process, but the wash’s employees are trying to make it as easy as possible for the customers to get their cars washed.
