The Iron Gate
The Iron Gate has a National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation theme this year. It is a smaller restaurant that is one of the most festive places to visit during the holiday season. The decorations are gorgeous, and it has a calm atmosphere. While they do have a full bar, they also have holiday mocktails as well. They serve a variety of different foods to appeal to everyone and are known for their small plates. The Garfield Lasagna is stuffed with Italian sausage, bolognese sauce, and ricotta cheese and is worth giving a try! And don’t forget to snap a picture with Cousin Eddie on your way out. While they have first-come, first-serve seating at the bar, reservations are highly recommended.

JoJo’s Shake BAR
JoJo’s Shake BAR is known for its amazing milkshakes and a wide variety of comfort foods such as soup sandwiches and wraps. During the holidays, they have holiday-themed shakes and decor. The Winter Wonderland Shake is loaded with all the holiday favorites like cookies, marshmallows, donuts, and even a candy cane. There are also many different hot chocolate flavors to choose from, including peppermint and salted caramel. During this holiday season, they have many events to check out, such as ornament painting, photos with Santa, and gingerbread house decorating. The atmosphere inside JoJo’s makes it so worth visiting, even if it’s not the holiday season. With a view of Comerica Park right down the alley, this is also a perfect place to check out before a Tiger’s game during the summer.

Dasher Room
The Dasher room is beautifully decorated with holiday-inspired foods and drinks and a very festive environment. This pop-up is located inside Testa Barra in Macomb Township. They also do special events during the holiday season that are worth keeping an eye out for. Their menu consists of Italian American foods, and they also have delicious brunch options that include breakfast nachos and many different eggs benedict options.

Cadillac Lodge
Cadillac Lodge is a pop-up restaurant during the holidays. It is cozy and filled with lodge-style decorations, comfortable seating, and lots of warm drinks and snacks. You can play board games or just grab a drink and chill by a fire if you prefer. They serve a variety of smaller food items, including Detroit-style chili and warm, soft pretzels. This is the perfect spot to visit after a night of enjoying the big tree downtown, followed by ice skating in the park.

Whiskeys on the Water
Whiskeys on the Water, located in downtown Wyandotte, has an exciting Grinch theme this year. They transform their restaurant into a festive environment with beautiful decorations and a cozy atmosphere. They often feature a holiday-inspired menu with comfort food and mocktails. They serve pretty much anything you can think of with different brunch, lunch, and individual foods. Their OMG!! Mac & Cheese is out of this world. You can even add buffalo chicken, or BBQ pulled pork. They also serve a full brunch offering on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., featuring items such as red velvet pancakes and Whoville Hash.

JP’s Waterfront
JP’s Waterfront is located in Gibraltar right on the water and is featuring an Elf-inspired theme for their very first-holiday pop-up this year. They go all out with holiday decor and not only have their regular restaurant but also host a Christmas pop-up with decorations, making it a fun place to hang out during the holiday season. They serve their normal menu with some holiday-themed foods as well, including a North Pole Soup Flight, Papa Elf’s Cheese Pull, and a fan favorite, the You Smell like Beef & Cheese. Now to decide whether to put maple syrup on it or not!
