Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley are the co-founders of the company Crumbl. Back in 2017, their idea was to create a delicious chocolate chip cookie, but instead, they kept that cookie and had a great idea to add more flavors along the way.
Crumbl first became popular on social media, especially Instagram and TikTok, which have taken over reviews. Crumbl has been around since 2017 and has continued to rise with the company, which has grown fast.
Crumbl has 1071 locations currently open around the world, and it continues to grow to this day. Crumbl in Woodhaven opened in April of 2022. Crumbl started to rise, and soon it made its big hit on the television series Shark Tank during season 10 of the show. After this, the promotion of the show was a big hit, and all of a sudden, it started to become very popular. Crumbl is a cookie company whose menu changes every week to different cookie flavors. Some cookies come back every once in a while. They have a variety of flavors; some are good, and some are bad.
They started to have special occasion cookies for the holidays, and that actually became successful. Some flavors do tend to come back every once in a while, or they also have similar cookies with just different names and are sweet. The cookies are each 4 ½ to 6 ounces, which is pretty heavy for a cookie, especially due to the cookie being so sweet. The average number of cookies is about 260 calories, so the average Crumbl cookie is about 2 times sweeter and thicker than what it actually should be for it to be considered normal. Considering how expensive a single cookie is, it should be split between two people.
I personally really think that they are overrated and have too much sugar in them. One cookie is equal to a whole meal that you can eat throughout the day. Apart from having too much sugar in them to make them sweet, they are actually really bad for your overall health and will actually raise your blood sugar. The cookies are really fat, and I know some people can eat 2 in one sitting, not knowing how much harm that actually causes to their health.
As mentioned before, every week, there are new flavors that are made. The flavors come from upcoming trends or are sometimes even based on movies that come out in theaters. Every week, 6 flavors are pulled, but the chocolate chip cookie is every week, no matter what. Now, Crumbl recently introduced mini versions of the cookies. These are tiny cookies that are the size of a standard store-bought cookie. Crumbl started making mini cookies late in 2017, but here in Woodhaven, they weren’t introduced until the late summer of 2024.
One thing that I do not like that Crumbl has introduced is that they have started to make cakes. As a cookie place, that does not make sense because why are they introducing cakes and not more cookie flavors? I feel like instead of the cakes, they could introduce or add 2 new cookies to their weekly menu as bonus flavors. The cakes, to me, have too much sugar. I’m not lying when I say they are good, but they should not have done that because it’s a cookie company, not a cake one.
