Eviana Bodagh, a senior at Woodhaven High School, got the position of class president through consistent involvement in the school and joining student council during her freshman year. Her hard work and involvement led to her becoming class President. In her junior year, there was a student council vote on who people thought should be president, and she got it. She said, “I wanted to be president because I like being involved and thought it would be fun and my advice for underclassmen is to stay involved and have fun, you only get the high school experience once.”
Eviana hosted the float parties this year for the senior class’s homecoming float. With homecoming on Oct. 19, 2024, she started them in early September. She also prepared for the assembly and got ready for spirit week.
For Snoball, she decorated the gym and each grade got its own corner. She prepared Spirit Week and decided what each day’s theme was.
Eviana and the rest of the student council go to other schools once a month for a Downriver League meeting. At those meetings, they learn and give ideas on how to get better involvement and do more things for the schools.
Powderbuff is an annual school volleyball tournament; when the boys in the school play volleyball. Each grade will play against each other and compete on March 10. Eviana helped organize it and put it together, she will also announce the game and keep score.
Right now she is busy working on prom, which is on May 29, 2025. She has been planning it and preparing for the past year. She toured prom venues last year and loved the Henry Ford Museum and the Roostertail. After touring venues, she sent out a final decision vote to the class to pick the venue, and the venue that got the most votes was the Roostertail. She wants to make sure that prom is a fun and memorable night for all seniors attending because it is one of the last times everyone will be together before graduation, she said, “I am looking forward to prom and how cute it will be inside the venue and being on the water.” She is primarily focusing on prom right now because all of the other school dances are over and the day is getting closer.
In addition to her planning prom, she is also preparing a speech for graduation. This speech will be read to her classmates on their final moment together as a class, and the day everyone has been looking forward to for years. The speech will be heartfelt and talk about their shared journey together throughout the years, while also inspiring everyone for their future.
Throughout this school year, Eviana has done a lot and helped the senior class make memories that they will remember forever. We can’t wait to see how she will end the year and give everyone their final memory of high school.
