Michigan State basketball has been performing very well this year as they are leading the Big 10 with their record being 24-5 throughout the season so far. This team has improved so much from last season as they ended last season going 20-15 throughout the season. Overall this team has very good potential to make an outstanding run in the March Madness tournament with Jaden Akins, and Jase Richardson both averaging over 11 points per game. If both of these players perform how they have been the whole season it will look good for them to make a run.
Not only Akins, and Richardson are performing outstanding, MSU basketball has many amazing players on their roster this year, such as Tre Holloman being a team player by averaging about 4 assists per game. This team is also very well rounded due to their defense being a major force in their victories with 6 players on the team having over 15 steals, and 4 of them having over 20 this season. Each of their players can score the basketball well. Their guards have really good scoring capabilities, but to win a game you need to have good guards and big men that can get to the rim for easy layups. For MSU, this is not an issue at all, with Carson Cooper being a great defender, Coen Carr getting the most points in the paint, and Jaxon Kohler getting the rebounds for this team. If all of their players consistently do how they have been this whole season they will not struggle to make a run.
This team is ranked 1st in the Big 10, and 8th in the NCAA league. They have performed against powerhouse teams such as Maryland, Wisconsin, and Michigan. With those powerhouse teams, MSU still came out on top against all of them. This proves that the MSU Spartans are a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA coming into the March Madness tournament. The Spartans have a chance at being the 1 seed coming into the tournament which will significantly increase their chances of making a run in the tournament. If this team secures the one seed it will allow them to play against the lowest seed in their bracket which enables them to have an easier game than a lower seed would. They should be able to make it decently far in this tournament.
