Every year, students take the SATs, but before that, they take the PSAT to give them a good idea of what will be on the actual exam. Students are given a packet to prepare them for the tests, and there are also resources for help when it comes to these standardized tests. Students should attend these after-school help events to succeed on this important test. Students should and are required to do the practice packet and check their answers on the very back of the packet where the answers are located to see if they got the correct answer.

When it comes to the math portion you should always have access to the calculator; even if you think you know the material well on the calculator part, it is always important to plug the equation in because you do not want to make a silly mistake on what could have been the correct answer on the tests.
When it comes to timing, you should know not to spend too much time on a question, or else you will be stuck looking at the clock and time will run out. Timing yourself when it comes to the tests is super important because if you are a nervous test taker, this tends to be overwhelming, and if you have any kind of anxiety, you will get even more nervous than you would be. This will be the second year using Chromebooks to take the SAT. Taking your time on this test is very important because it is you proving your knowledge of what you have learned throughout your High School career.
The tests, of course, are to test your knowledge and prove that you do understand the subjects thoroughly. Even though many people put pressure on students, saying you have to do well in order to pass or get into college, that is a lie. The SAT is intended to show whether a student is ready for college. Most colleges use these scores to reward scholarships or, in most cases, placements for students in competitions trying to get into a university. Now, there is a Test-Optional option that you can do, which requires, most of the time, a good essay proving that you are up for the task and can prove that you belong at the college. At the end of the day, the SAT should not scare you because there are always other options, but always try your best because getting into college with a good SAT score is always outstanding for colleges to see.
