The NFL is a professional football league that hosts a draft every year to recruit new players. Almost every young football player hopes to make it there one day, as many of the pro footballers are famous and wealthy. This upcoming draft (April 24 – 26) is making many viewers excited and anticipating to see where their favorite college football players will be continuing their careers. Let’s take a look at a couple of key players and where they may end up.
This article will start by talking about some of the top CFB players, such as Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, and Cam Ward. Travis Hunter is a dynamic two-way player who plays both defense (Cornerback) and offense (Wide Receiver). As this may seem common nowadays, no other player is doing it the way that Travis Hunter is, especially at the level he is doing it. Brian Daboll states, “Well, it takes a long time to evaluate because there’s a lot of tape.” Daboll said. “It’s remarkable what he has done and the ability to perform at that level, not getting rest. So, he’s been a fun player to evaluate, meet, and talk with. He’s a heck of a player.” Along with that, Dobell believes that Hunter will be drafted by the Giants due to them needing help at both positions.
Moving on, the next player we will look at is Shedeur Sanders (Colorado QB). Shedur is described as an “old-school” quarterback who thrives in the pocket, drawing a contrast with the more mobile and improvisational Cam Ward. He will most likely land with one of the following teams: the Titans, the Browns, the Raiders, or the Jets. All these teams need a solid quarterback; however, what will affect where he goes the most is Cam Ward.
Cam Ward is a talented Quarterback out of the University of Miami. He is quick and agile and is a run-first quarterback. He is oftentimes compared to players like Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels. Ryan Fowler said this about his combined performance: “Ward has high-level experience in a pro-style offense with diverse route concepts and varying progressions. He can identify matchups pre-snap but is quick to shift his eyes to his second or third read if coverage dictates, “He’s also a fluid athlete who can make throws accurately on the run and at a variety of angles.” Cam Ward is expected to be one of the round first picks, going to similar teams as Shedeur Sanders.
This draft will not focus on a specific position, and that is what makes it unique. There is so much skill this year, and so many names that are amazing that haven’t been stated in this article. Some honorable mentions are Abdul Carter (EDGE), Kevin Banks Jr. (OT), and Mason Graham (DT). This draft will quite honestly dictate what teams will thrive in the upcoming season and what teams won’t, as all of these young players are bound to create an impact. So do tune in to see where these athletes go from April 24th to April 26th.
