The golf season officially begins with the Masters starting on the 7th. It will start next Monday and run from Monday until the 13th Sunday. It truly begins on the 10th, but the players will start to prepare and practice on the 6th-7th.
The field of the masters is being talked about everywhere as the guys at LIV Golf are allowed to play in the Tournament. Some of the big names are Scottie Scheffler, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Brysen DeChambeau, Zander Schauffele, Rory Mcilroy, Billy Harsher, and Wyndham Clark. With all of them winning multiple U.S opens and PGA tournaments.
Scottie Scheffler won the Masters last year and in 2022, giving him a high chance of winning again. Jon Rahm won the Masters in 2023, and Phil Mickelson won three Masters, one in 2004, one in 2006, and one in 2010. Brysen won a bunch of tournaments, the major ones being two LIV golf tournaments and two U.S openings, one in 2020 and one in 2024. He also won a DP World Tour in 2019. Some people may ask why one of the best golfers to exist isn’t playing in the Masters even though he won five of them, Tiger Woods. He had an unrelated golf accident and is out on injury, but will probably be coming back next year.
The Masters took place in Augusta, Georgia, at the Augusta National Golf Course. The golf course has been hosting the tournament since 1934, so anyone who has already played in the Masters gets a little head start with the course being adjusted to try and give everyone a chance to win. To get into the tournament, you have to place in multiple amateur tours or championships across the country and the world.
The PGA rules apply for the rules in the masters, making the tournament one of the hardest tours, not to mention Augusta is a very hard course, especially when it comes to its par threes and its long par fours.
If you are considering doing a walk-along at the masters, it can cost 100 dollars a day for practice days and 140 dollars for the actual tournament days. It might seem like a lot to walk and watch golf, but this year’s competition is considered a discount because it is going to be one of the best masters in a while.
