With the NHL playoffs being played since April 19, 2025, no team has yet been eliminated, with all of the series going into a game five. When it comes to scores, the Golden Knights tied with the Minnesota Wild 2-2. The Toronto Maple Leafs lost their first game of the series, taking their lead to 3-1 against the Ottawa Senators.
The Dallas Stars are tied with the Colorado Avalanche 2-2, the Winnipeg Jets are tied with the St Louis Blues 2-2, and the Carolina Hurricanes are up versus the New Jersey Devils 3-1. The Washington Capitals are also leading 3-1 against the Montreal Canadiens. The Los Angeles Kings and the Edmonton Oilers tied 2-2, and the Florida Panthers lead the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1.
“The 25 NHL Playoffs are in full swing, and the odds to win the Stanley Cup have shifted dramatically. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead in their first-round series, the Colorado Avalanche have dropped two straight games to the Dallas Stars despite the return of the team’s captain, Gabe Landeskog. The Avs went from +500 betting favorites to win the Stanley Cup after Game 1, to a moderate contender at +1050 following Game 3. Now that each NHL playoff series has played two games, the odds to win the Stanley Cup have been updated for each of the 16 remaining NHL teams at BetMGM.”
The NHL playoffs, year after year, are about as hectic as it gets. Teams go back and forth with goals, and also go back and forth in wins. You could be down 3-0 in terms of games and make a miraculous comeback and win 4-3, or you could lie down and lose. None of these teams is like this this year. All of them want to win and are going to try and strive to complete the final feat of winning a Stanley Cup.
The Montreal Canadiens have been the most dominant team in the past within this playoff series, winning 24 Stanley Cups, which means they aren’t afraid to win another. Even though they are down 3-1 in the series, there is not counting them out and finishing up their season on a high note.
The Maple Leafs are riding a nice 3-1 lead over the Senators and are going to strive their way into the Championship, trying to end their Stanley Cup drought of 56 seasons. “The Leafs’ 1966-67 championship campaign also stands as their last appearance in the Stanley Cup Final. That means the Original Six franchise hasn’t reached the Cup Final in the expansion era (since the 1967-68 season).”
The one-seeded Capitals and Maple Leafs have lived up to their hype leading in their series 3-1, but on the other hand, the other two one seeds, the Jets and the Golden Knights, are tied with their opponents 2-2. There is no doubt that these teams that are tied can’t just walk away with a win, but will have to put up a fight to get rid of the Blues (Jets’ opponent) and the Wild (Golden Knights’ Opponent).
