The 2025 Woodhaven senior prom is approaching fast, on May 29! This year’s prom will be held at the Roostertail in Detroit. This is always one of the most exciting moments for all seniors. Everyone gets to dress their best and have the time of their lives with the people they had by their side growing up with since they were little kids. Prom tickets are expensive, but they include dinner, dessert, the dance, and even cotton candy and ice cream! There is a photo booth, and the venue is beautiful. It is right on the Detroit River in Detroit, so while eating upstairs, you have a nice view of the water. This is probably the last time moms will help their daughters into their dresses besides their wedding.
It’s a bittersweet moment, really. Most seniors are excited to be done with high school and off to their independent lives as adults. They will have fun pursuing their dreams and trying new things.
Others will miss all of their underclassmen friends they will leave behind when they leave, and the teachers who helped them grow into the people they are today. They will miss the teachers who helped them decide what they wanted to do with the rest of their lives. The ones who made certain topics interesting and fun for the students. The ones that impacted the most.
AP exams and finals are coming up soon for everyone. Seniors only have a few weeks left before they are completely done with their high school years! There is a lot of stress on seniors right now with planning their graduation parties, choosing classes for next year if they are going to college, AP exams and finals, and even finding dress clothes and dresses for prom.
With seniors’ last days approaching, many realize how real this actually is. Decision day is May 2. This is when seniors get to show off their commitment after their high school years. Whether that be to a community college, a university, the military, or the trades. This is when seniors start to get excited because their last year is finally coming to an end.
Many seniors have no idea what they are doing after this, and that is okay. They have plenty of time to figure out everything. After high school, people have great responsibilities, including that of being role models for the younger generation and the students still in high school. Paying taxes, applying for and paying off student loans, getting internships, finding out where to live, and becoming an adult. They may be done with high school, which was a big part of their lives, but they are off to a new chapter now. They have to work even harder to get to where they want to, and they have many more responsibilities.
