Thursday, May 16th, the class of 2025 here at WHS went on the football field to watch Tangled and watch the sunset, just like they watched it rise on their first day. Students gathered together on the football field as they shared snacks, played games, and talked amongst each other, celebrating the near end of the senior year. Some students got creative with their seating options as well and chose lawnchairs, blow-up couches, and even pools. Once the sun began to descend, everyone gathered around near the gate and took pictures and videos of the sunset. Some kids played football in the corner, others made TikTok videos, danced, and did flips on the field.
When we asked senior Aaralyn Johnson about her time at the senior sunset, she said, “I had an amazing night spending time with my peers, sharing an enjoyable moment with this group.” Demond Smith, another senior, was also asked about his time at the sunset, and he said, “The event was incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.” Overall, the night was filled with great memories and times that many of the seniors can look back on, and as the seniors get closer to graduation, hopefully, this moment is something they can remember forever.
