Over the past 4 years of being in high school, WHS seniors think about these years and think about a life lesson they learned while being here. Now you would think that they would say things like, “Get to class on time” “Don’t do your homework late” and stuff like that. But actually the seniors at our school have something else to say instead.
For example Mariana Moss said, “Have fun with the little things.” She said this because she had spent so much time worrying about the big things, that it was the smallest things that are what made her the happiest.
Lots of people said that the school has a lot or a little bit of fake people. People who aren’t true to the friendship, or to themselves which is what usually cost people their friendships. Shauntez Young, went on to say, “Don’t trust fake chicks.” Now we all know what he means but what he says is true. There are a lot of people here who are either in relationships or are in talking stages who are fake. And in the end it tends to hurt the other party more than most would know.
At our high school lots of students like to judge or make fun of others based on how they look, what they wear, or what they do. And it’s never easy being on the judged side of it. But a lesson that was learned but learned to late was this, “Be yourself, and don’t let anyone change you.”” This is what Damaya Nundley said when asked about her life lesson.
Lots of people are always obsessed with what everyone else has, or are jealous of them for what they have, while they don’t have it. But Angel Davidson says otherwise. “Don’t be envious of other people.” This shows that not only did she realize that what she has is just enough, but it’s also all she needs.
At the end of the day you should just have fun and get through high school with everyone you know–even if you don’t like them–and Serena Ramirez says the same thing, “Make memories with everyone no matter who they are.”
And so by the end of the year, all of the seniors just want to leave. But they also realize they learned more than they could have asked for. They learned to get over the childish stuff and to just get through high school. But they also learned that they should have fun in the process. Everyone learns a life lesson in high school, and those are the lessons that tend to stick the most, even after they graduate.
