Here at Woodhaven High School, Students have five minutes of passing time to get from one class to the next. For some students that is not enough time to get to class while having to stop at lockers to grab necessities for the next class.I think that passing time is not enough time, due to the fact that we have to go to our lockers, and it can also affect your ability to get to your class if your locker is far. Also due to the crowded hallways, breakfast lines, and classes being on the opposite side of the school.
After the bell had rung, I observed nearly 40 students still in the halls trying to get to their class, which shows that getting to class can be difficult if you need to stop at your lockers or to get breakfast. “Getting from one class to another class can be hard if you need to go to your locker and get things for your next class while getting breakfast can be hard,” said Junior Nafeel Chohan.
Some students also think that it’s possible to get from one class to another if you simply go to your locker, grab the things you need to go to class then ask the teacher to get breakfast which won’t get you tardy. “It’s very easy to get to your class if you take all the things for all your classes by, first hour,” said Senior Niklus Duby. It shows how it’s possible to get to class on time if you just take everything you need for your first hour.
During passing time the hallways are crowded, and the rush is big.“The passing time is not enough due to the fact that the hallways are crowded because of the freshmen that came last year which are the sophomores now and the incoming freshman of this year,” said Senior Mikayla Hill. This shows how the new class coming in can make a big effect on the school, and passing time. Which affects people going to class on time.
Passing time at Woodhaven High School is only five minutes with some students thinking that it’s possible to get to class while others thinking it’s difficult. Will Woodhaven High School do anything to resolve this reoccurring issue? Or will students have to manage their time and get to class on time? For some, this doesn’t affect them because they don’t think it’s hard, while for some it does because they think that it’s difficult.
