Welcome, this is a definitive tier list ranking for many things one might receive on Halloween. From popular chocolates to bouncy balls, we’ve got it all. Feel free to disagree with the rankings, and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Ranks: S TIER
Snickers: Classic chocolate bar, with its complex mixture of peanuts, nougat, and caramel it blows many competitors out of the water.
Gummy Worms: THE sour gummy.
Caramel Apple Pops: Unique, simple, and tasty. There are three different kinds to choose from, all covered in a sweet caramel with a slightly sour center. Apple perfection, and always on theme for the season.
Nerds Gummy Clusters: A modern classic that’s taken the world by storm. This chewy candy turns plain nerds into a chewy delicacy.
A TIER
Butterfingers: An addictive peanut butter crunch bar.
Reese Cups: The most popular Halloween candy in the US! But its ranking is lowered for going stale so easily, and tasting pretty gross when doing so.
Lindt Chocolate: I’ve never seen someone hand these chocolates out, but this would be amazing if they did. It is a very smooth and expensive chocolate.
Any full-size candy bar: the bigger, the better
Kit Kat: As good as Reese’s cups, but they have the same issue with staleness.
Twix: A smaller version of millionaire’s shortbread, and a very good one.
B TIER
Peanut M&M’s: A solid choice if you like peanuts.
Ring Pop: A nice choice in hard candies. Sweet, tangy, and fashionable.
M&M’s: The original M&M’s. They will not melt as easily as other candies.
Skittles: The fruit version of M&M’s. Bright, fruity disks of pure sugar for those who enjoy fruit flavored candies.
Almond Joy: A well-known coconut and chocolate candy, with almonds. Tasty and a bit unique
Milky Way Midnight: The superior version of Milky Way. The dark chocolate helps balance out the other flavors better than the normal version.
C TIER
Payday: Very simple, and enjoyable.
Hershey: Iconic, but very basic. There are better variations and chocolates to get.
Oozing Eye Marshmallows: Fun, but not great overall in taste and quality.
Laffy Taffy: A fruity chewy taffy, that is good with certain flavors.
Bouncy Balls: Inedible, but still fun to bounce. They will last longer than the candy as well.
Water: It’s always nice to rehydrate after a long time of walking from house to house.
D TIER
Fruit Tootsie Rolls: The superior version of Tootsie Rolls to receive. The different flavors make it so much better, and on the same level as other fruit chews.
Toxic Waste; Not bad, but not good either. Very sour, but the underlying fruit flavors are very mellow depending on which you get. This candy is not for everyone, and if you eat too much it may hurt your throat.
Pretzels: They are okay. A good contrast from all of the sweets, but can be very bland
Milky Way: The name sounds cooler than it tastes.
3 Musketeers: The same as Milky Way bars. 3 Musketeers is the worst of the two in my opinion.
Starburst: A very common fruit candy to receive. Juicy and interesting, but not everyone likes the common flavors.
Candy Corn: Very sweet, and very disliked. It kind of tastes like pure chewy sugar. An over-hated item in my opinion
Liquorice: One of the least popular treats, so its ranking is lowered. This is slso over-hated in my opinion.
Swedish Fish: For me, another example of chewy, fruit-flavored sugar. There are better candies out there to receive.
E TIER
Tootsie Rolls: The artificial chocolate flavor is disgusting. There has to be better chocolate flavoring out there, and they aren’t using it.
Plastic rings: They look cool, but break easily and can get boring fast.
F TIER
Smarties: Powdery, tangy sugar. I mean that insultingly. You can barely tell the different flavors from one another.
Apples: A healthy but disappointing thing to receive when you are thinking of candy.
Well, that is everything. In the end, we can all agree that the best outcome is to receive anything at all on Halloween. So, let’s all get into the spooky spirit and trick-or-treat forward.
