This year, the Woodhaven High School chapter of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) will host an annual clothing drive here at WHS from December 2nd to 18th. Donations of clean, gently used men’s and women’s clothing will be accepted. Donations will benefit those in need of clothing and those who can’t financially afford clothes like most can. All donations will be going to Goodwill to help support. As of right now, they have 20 bags ready to be donated by December 18. To help out in the community, DECA also does clothing, food drives, and Holiday gifts for families in need during this cold season.
DECA is a student organization that helps students develop leadership and business skills for marketing, finance, hospitality, and management careers. DECA often hosts events similar to the clothing drive to help those in need in our community. This clothing drive allows serving whether you’re a part of DECA or not. If you have clean, gently used clothing you no longer need, you can bring it to the main office at Woodhaven High School. By donating, you can clean out your closet, give your clothes a second life, and help someone in need. Even if it comes down to one or two items of clothing, it still counts, and any help is always appreciated.
When you’re sitting at home snuggled up in your cozy blankets, remind yourself how fortunate you are, and there are always ways to help give, so why not give what you have already once received?
