After the phenomenal fall production of High School Musical, one might think that no other show could top it. Well, they would be wrong. The Woodhaven Theater Company announced on Monday November 10th that the spring musical will be Mamma Mia. Mamma Mia is a very popular musical filled with themes of love and self discovery touching many young hearts.
Mamma Mia follows the story of mother and Daughter Donna and Sophie Sheridan. Back in the day, Donna lived a promiscuous life and during those times she became pregnant with Sophie. However, she does not know who the father is. In the present day, Sophie is getting married to her fiance, Skye, but in a time of chaos she happens to invite all of her possible dads to her wedding day: Sam Carmichael, Bill Anderson, and Harry Bright. Will the stress from the wedding get to Sophie? Does Donna realize her past lovers are at her daughter’s wedding? If so, what will she do?
You can answer all of these questions for yourself! Mark your calendars now because auditions for this fantastic musical are February 18th-19th. If you want additional audition help the theater company will tentatively be having workshops before auditions on February 10th. If you prefer to watch rather than participate in the shows, performances are on May 7th, 8th, and 9th at 7 pm. The Woodhaven Theater Company will be glad to have you there!
