Trust in Yzerman

The Detroit Red Wings are bringing Hockeytown back. The Wings are almost a whole different team from their recent years.

Ever since Steve Yzerman came to the Red Wings, he has been about winning, so it is no surprise about the moves he made in the off-season. In the next year or so, Steve will bring Hockeytown another Stanley Cup.

One of his first big moves earlier this year was re-signing Jake Walman on a three-year contract extension, which has proven smart considering he is having one of his best seasons yet. Then Yzerman continued to make good moves by trading for Forward Alex Debrincat from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Forward Dominik Kubalik, defenseman Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round and fourth-round of the 2024 draft. Most recently the Wings signed Right Winger Patrick Kane. After signing these players back to Hockeytown has proven to be working.

The main player shining out of these players though is Patrick Kane who has been on a hot streak scoring in most of his games with the Red Wings already. His teammates are even glad he’s there saying “It’s great he’s here,” DeBrincat said via ESPN.

The Wings offense is ranked 6th in the NHL. With all these young core players developing the Red Wings are bound to shine in the coming years. The team’s starting Defenseman Moritz Seider is on pace to have an even better year than last year and already scoring 5 goals in 30 games.

Now Dylan Larkin is returning to the lineup soon which is only going to help the Wings win.

“It’s huge,” forward Alex DeBrincat said of Larkin’s return. “He’s our leader and our best player, so it’s nice to get him back. We missed him a lot. Happy he’s back and hopefully we can get this back on track” via ESPN.
