On May 21st, it was announced that most of the seniors would take yet another day to skip school as a class before there memorial day weekend. Most of the senior skip days this school year hadn’t been as coherently planned as last year’s. Some of the seniors had gone to Cedar Point to make some fun last memories before having to take finals. Meanwhile, other seniors just stayed home or had to go to school due to presentations in all the English classes.
On May 28th, the yearly attendance trip to Cedar Point for the freshmen class took place. Students who have almost perfect attendance are rewarded with the trip to Cedar Point, and the teacher who supervised and coordinated the trip was Ms. Nagy and Ms. Toshbuzzy. Students were asked to go to the PBLZ for Attendance at the start of school. A total of 106 students were able to participate and go, as well as a few student parents helping supervise the kids around the park. Getting to the park, students were able to go on as many rides as they wanted. My personal favorite when I went to Cedar Point last summer with my family was Siren’s Curse. Whether it was the 90-degree drop or the foggy tunnel, the ride was really thrilling, and at the time, it was a new ride that had just come out, sometimes having riders needing to evacuate the ride. Aside from that, there are rides like the Maverick and Gatekeeper, all fan favorites. After food, thrilling rides, and being able to hang out with friends, students took a long bus ride home and arrived at the school around 9:40 pm. Some of the freshmen who went ended up skipping school today because of how tiring the trip was, and I hope that there could be about the same, if not more, who can go because it has always been known as a really fun trip.
