Dave’s Hot Chicken is a popular halal fast-food restaurant chain with locations all over the United States and Canada. The first restaurant was founded in California on May 2, 2017. Their signature hot flavor Nashville chicken quickly gained mass popularity and helped them to expand their business to various states and locations around the country. 

Currently, they have around six locations in Michigan. I went to 22208 Michigan Ave. Dearborn, MI 48124. There are a lot of free parking lots around the restaurant and you can also side park your vehicle. They offer both dine-in and takeout options. The clean tables and chairs are set outside the restaurant with the view of the city if you choose the dine-in option.

One thing that sets Dave’s Hot Chicken apart from other fast food places is that it is the first famous halal fast food restaurant in the US and Canada with halal-certification in all of their locations. For Muslims in the US, it is a challenge to find a delicious halal restaurant, particularly fast food, so for Muslims, Dave’s is very convenient.

Junior Usyad Pathan agrees, “I knew that this restaurant was halal to eat, so I decided to try it out and liked it. So I recommend everyone to try it out as their overall services and food was 9.5/10.”   

The vibrant and authentic environment of the restaurant hypes people towards it. The urban decor creates a warm and cozy atmosphere for hot chicken lovers. The staff is cooperative and friendly, enhancing the dining experience in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and hygienic. 

The menu is limited and the prices are between $15-$25, but the quality of the food is worth it. Their menu includes delicious items like crispy chicken tenders, sliders, crinkle-cut fries, mac and cheese, kale slaw, and a selection of refreshing cold drinks and shakes. The chicken seasoning hits a good balance of flavors, and you get to choose your spice level on your own which is a good thing as some people prefer low, medium, or extra hot spiciness. As a spice lover, I had to order the extreme one.

When I visited the restaurant, I ordered their famous chicken slider with cheese fries and a cold drink. I liked the slider as it was made as the blend of ingredients used in the chicken made it more flavorful and fiery, it was all juicy and tender. 

Senior Zainab Chaudhary echoes this experience. “The quality of food was really good and I liked it a lot, especially the chicken slider and tender, the richness of flavor and crispiness were flavorsome and divine.”  

According to the Google survey, most people were satisfied with the quality of food and environment of the restaurant. On Yelp and Reddit it also attains a 4.2-4.8 rating with mostly positive reviews. It’s a must-try restaurant, and all the people who haven’t tried it should give it a try and experience something new. A recommendation to all individuals is to try a different chicken restaurant apart from typical brands like Mcdonald’s, Chick-fil-A, or Popeyes.
