4 Michigan getaways for camping enthusiasts

Michigan has many beautiful places to go and take a camping trip with family or friends. Camping is a wonderful outdoor activity that helps you bond with others and is a calming way to take a break. There are many places to camp within just under a five-hour distance. 

Only about 4 hours and 30 minutes away you can find beautiful dunes which all ages can enjoy. Stopping and camping at Indian Bluffs at the price of $50 per night, which includes pool access, showers, and multiple play structures for kids to enjoy. The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is only 15 minutes away but you pay the price of getting access to the National Park. 

 

 

Taking a step to the northeast side of Michigan there is Mackinaw City, which is only about 4 hours and 33 minutes away. With the Mackinaw Mill Creek campground only 10 minutes away from the city it is a perfect place to stop for the night. This campground includes free wifi, showers, pool access, a mini golf course, and a small camping store for any necessities.

 

 

Making our way to closer campgrounds is Port Crescent State Park which is only about 2 hours and 50 minutes away. The prices of this campground varies as it is closed for 2024 for remodeling of the facilities and new roads. This park is on the water and is a perfect way to relax on the beach. This State Park includes play structures, beach access, and a bathhouse for all people 

 

 

Coming even closer to home we have the Waffle Farm campground which is only about 2 hours and 10 minutes away. This farm is very family friendly as it is mainly based around families with children. Right inside the park, there is access to the lake to which fishers can bring their boats. All around the park, there are play structures and shower houses that are well-maintained.

 

 

All and all these campgrounds are very well-known places for their nice campgrounds and landscapes. From the fun at the campfires at night to the experience of being in nature, it is guaranteed fun. Take a relaxing fun trip with family and friends and discover more of the outdoors!
